Back in the balmy warmth of August 2024 (remember that?! Hard to picture it right now in chilly February!) Anna and Yusef got married in Anna’s parents’ garden. They had a beautiful, personal ceremony performed by independent celebrant Sheila Greatrex of Spotlight Ceremonies after Anna and her bridesmaids and mum got ready at Asteria Wellbeing. The whole day felt very easy-going and natural with Anna’s mum’s stunning garden providing the backdrop and music from Sambhina Jazz Band during the reception.

Chelsey and Fawaz’s wedding was unapologetically authentic - they did exactly what they wanted and there wasn’t a single part of it that felt like something they did for the sake of it, or to follow a tradition they didn’t believe in.

With nods to Fawaz’s Arabic heritage and Chelsey’s work as a burlesque artist and producer, it was a day filled with love, fun, and uniqueness.

Early autumn wedding at Architectural Plants

Briony and Jamie had a stunning wedding at Architectural Plants in late September, packed with gorgeous styling by Luna and the Lane and wedding co-ordination by Foil Events. They were inspired by a previous wedding I shot in Goa, India, where the theme was ‘disco jungle’ and I think they absolutely nailed it. The pink and peach tones, along with an abundance of disco balls, set against the lush greens of Architectural Plants were a visual delight!

Wendy and Mike had a beautiful, intimate wedding day at Morden Park House register office and 601 Queen’s Road in Wimbledon last June. I’d class their day as a micro wedding because they had under 30 guests, but the vibe was anything but ‘micro’!

People often ask me if I find shooting weddings stressful, and the truth is 80% of the time I don't. I love them, I'm confident I'll get everything I need and I'm flexible when I need to be. But if there's one point in the day that can be a bit tricky, it's the group photos. It might sound a lot but having 2 hours between the end of your ceremony and the start of food or speeches is ideal, giving us enough time to get the group and couple's shoots done while still leaving an hour or so for you to mingle and chat to guests. Below are some pointers on how I think it's best to organise them and make good use of your time.
